About Julia Migone – RD, LND, CPT
I was born, raised, schooled, and lived as a young adult in the south of England. It was not until my twenties, after starting my family that I decided to pursue Nutrition as a career. My interest in food began in my early teen years, sparked by vegetarianism, which was the alternative thing at the time. This was very much to my mother’s horror, which of course compelled me to continue! Needless to say, it wasn’t too long before I needed to figure out some creative ways to make meatless meal times more satisfying. I can thank my parents for their appreciation of fresh, home cooked foods, and for exposing my pallet to unfamiliar tastes from around the world, for a lot of my early inspiration.
I initiated a full time degree at the University of North London, then transitioned to Kings College London. My studies were put on hold, due to the birth of my second child and during the same year, 1999, we moved to the USA. Florida has been our home since 2002
I was lucky to spend time at home nurturing my three children when they were young; however 2010 for me was the dawn of a new era. Having dabbled in the fitness industry for some years, I chose to pursue my personal training certification. I have been actively sharing my knowledge of physical fitness and nutrition with my clients in both the gym, and private environments ever since. Simultaneously during these past few years, I have worked in the weight loss business as a consultant, and I finally graduated my Nutrition and Dietetics Bachelor of Science degree, with a full time clinical internship, from Keiser University.
I was compelled to complete my studies after all these years primarily because of a devastating loss of a loved one I had felt helpless in my lack of understanding, and how best to tackle the situation I found myself in. This ordeal reawakened a deep longing in me to gain more knowledge in the field of healing nutrition, and thus now, I am better equipped to help others who face health issues. The power of food is vastly misunderstood. My quest is to educate and streamline the subject of nutrition to individuals, and to empower people to attain lifestyle changes so as to enjoy optimal good health.
